Tribes, Nations and Bands have different rules about Protection Orders.
They can issue Protection Orders to their own members through their
own courts. In Seattle and King County, these tribal orders are recognized
and will be enforced by the local police and sheriff under Washington
State law. However, each Tribe, Nation or Band has different rules
about Protection Orders from other places.
If
you have questions, please contact your local tribal court, or
call the Seattle Indian Health Board Domestic Violence Community
Advocate Project at 206-324-9360 ext. 802.
